Poetry, Party, and my Play

written May 13

Hello, hello, hello! I am so glad to write again! I have been super busy, and I have a lot to tell you. Well, my friend (S) had her birthday party, and I am sure you'd like to hear about that. I learned some new games and exercises in theater which I will be happy to share with you. I have a few poems for you. Let's get started!

S's party was a blast! She brought supplies and decor over a few days before the party. I decorated early Saturday morning after having a great breakfast with my dad at Cracker Barrel. S came over a little early bringing some party guests and more supplies. I had just finished setting up. Soon all the other party guests arrived, and it was time to play games. I had planned almost all of the games, so it was funny to see the birthday girl needing to be told instructions! One of the games we played was a little wet! There were shells in a metal mixing bowl full of water. One person spun the bowl, while the person who's turn it was took a fork, and tried to scoop a shell out. It's harder than it sounds! Almost everyone got wet! We also played capture the flag - or tried. We have new grass in the backyard, so that was off limits, and playing just in a small front yard, well, you end up with everyone standing staring at each other waiting for someone to make the first move. One of the party activities S arranged was painting pots and planting flowers and herbs in them. That was a lot of fun. I painted ivy leaves and vines all around mine, and then I planted peppermint and flowers in my pot. We had pizza sticks, cake, and ice-cream. After that, S opened presents. I gave her a Webkinz signature Persian cat. Soon everyone had to leave except one person who stayed late. She helped me take down all the decorations that I had put up only hours before. When she left, the party was over, and I rested.

Theater is a blast! I am so excited for our performance, but a little bit dreading tech week, which of course starts today. Tech week is the most intense week, when we perfect the play, and it seems like 'this is never going to happen' and then it does! Well, when we aren't rehearsing, we are warming up or playing games. Some of the new warm ups are really fun, like this new tongue-twister. Here goes-

To sit in solemn silence
in a dull, dark dock,
In a pestilential prison,
with a life-long lock,
Awaiting the sensation
of a short, sharp shock,
From a cheap and chippy chopper
on a big black block
Big black block,
short sharp shock,
from a cheap and chippy chopper
on a big black block.

Pretty creepy huh?

Now for some poems!

What do you think? I do have one more poem to share with you! I will now explain the inspiration for this poem. My friend E.A. got a Webkinz signature cougar, and I got a Webkinz signature ragdoll cat. They are going to get married, and I wrote a love letter from Ivyheart-the ragdoll cat to Aspenleaf-the cougar.

Dear Aspenleaf,
it's me, Ivyheart.
I am in grief
when we are apart.

Someday we'll be joined,
and become one from two.
And when that occurs,
we'll start a life, new!

Have me forever,
or not at all.
When we are together,
I shall never fall.

I'll now sign off here,
love forever and true,
the cat Ivyheart,
who'll forever love you!
-Ivy heart

Do you like it? It took me forever to write! Well, I guess that's it for this time, but I’ll have lots again next week! See ya then!

Extra's and Pictures!

I learned the cup song! It's a song that goes a long with cup flips and movement. Here I am trying to teach it to baby!  (click on the link)

I made my hair poof!

My welcome ceremony for my new webkinz Ivyheart!

Mother's day!

I made this dish of fruit for my mom on Mother's day! It's strawberries and blueberries!

Baby asleep!

Till next time, bye!
