Ok, there’s not really too much to say. I think I will just tell you some poems I made and then give you the photo gallery.

Poem 2:
As sharp as a knife,
As small as a thumb,
Although she is quiet,
She begins to hum.

With the rope she embraces,
A big task she faces.
Her captive is vast,
And she works quite fast.

Soon she has found
Her captive neatly bound.
Having past her first test,
She prepares for the rest.

Much larger jobs are coming,
soon again she’ll be humming,
She’ll be threading her way
Through fabric each day.

Poem 3:
Dear stuffed animal,
How is it friend?
To be played with
Again and again?
Is it strange to be
Moved by me
Instead of moving yourself?
Strange to need to be helped?
Do you think?
Do you like to be brushed?
Do you hate your voice
Being hushed?
Is it interesting to see
What I imagine?
Is it annoying
Begin binned?
I hope you don’t mind
When I put you
In a pretend zoo.
I think you should be happy
To be played with everyday.
Sometimes other people
lock their animals away.
Either way I am happy
You are mine,
And you should be too.
And even if you aren’t
I love you.

Even Busier Week!

Hey everyone!    Last week, as you all know, was very busy. However, this week was an even busier week! Hence, the title.

Well, where do I start? How about with Monday. That was theater day. At theater that week, we played a really fun game. One person went to the “stage” and chose a pose. For the pose, they said what they were doing. For example, if some one walked to the front, pretended to sit in a chair and acted (quietly) like they were crying, they could say “ I am a child in time out.” Then they would freeze in that position. Then another person would go up, and add on to the scene. Example: Someone goes up, takes the pose of someone about to smack the ‘child’, then says “I am the dad about to spank the child for breaking all the china which is why he is in time out.” After that, another person sticks a pointer finger out, puts her hand on her hips, and opens her mouth. “I am the mother about to scold the child for breaking all the fine china.” Then, the teacher says “and the story comes to life.” Suddenly, the story begins to move. The child starts crying loudly, the mother starts scolding, and the father pretends to slap the child. It is a very fun game. In the one I was in, it was “I am a banana.” I went up: “I am a dog about to eat the banana.” “I am the kid about to hit the dog for eating my banana.” “I am the mother about to slap the kid for slapping the dog” believe it or not, the story does not always involve slapping! Lol. Well, the teacher can also tell us to rewind, in which case we go backwards in time,  or fast forward, in which case we go forward in time. It is a really awesome game.

The next busy day was Tuesday. Tuesday night I had my Christmas Cotillion Ball. It was very fun. I wore a pretty, deep blue dress, a ‘diamond’ necklace and tiara, and my new silver heels. Here is a picture.

This one shows the tiara better.

The first thing we did at Cotillion was find a seat and listen to Mrs. B. as she told us the plan for the night. After that, the dancing started. We learned a new dance too! We had to carry around these dance slips, and then when we did special dances, we had to write down who we danced with. After a few dances, we all had snack. Then we started dancing again. At the end of class, we each got a candy cane. I got a blue raspberry jolly rancher flavored one.

Wednesday was the REALLY busy day. But it was also really fun. I got together with a few other homeschooler friends at a charity. They receive donations of new & gently used toys and give them to very poor children & families.  We were all going to wrap toys for families for Christmas. When we got inside, we realized that we would have to sort hundreds of toys first. After sorting, we each wrapped presents making them beautiful. We all talked while we wrapped, and took frequent short breaks. During these breaks, we sat on the mountain of stuffed animals. We worked there for 5.5 hours. Afterwards, I got McDonalds!

On Thursday, Mom and I went to go see the play Charlotte’s Web. It was a great play. The costumes were great, as well as the set.

Today there is nothing to do ~ except school of course, and if I have time, which I probably will, I am going to work on my Galadriel costume. I am going to go see The Hobbit with my friends.  We are all (well most of us) dressing up like a character; I am going as Galadriel.  You'll have to wait until my next blog to see it!

Busy Week

Hey Guys! Last week was really busy & lots of fun!  First, I am going to tell you about the Girl’s Night Out I went to, then I am going to tell you about the Nutcracker Suite, last is the photo gallery. Ready, set, go!

Well, let’s see, on Saturday, I went to M.S.’s house for a Girl’s Night Out along with many other middle school homeschool girls. The first thing we did was play Mafia. This game is where every one sits in a circle, doesn’t have to be precise. There is one person who doesn’t sit in the circle. He/she is the narrator (n.).  The n. will tell every one to “fall asleep”…close your eyes, and then n will go around the circle and tap two people. If you are tapped once, you are Mafia, if you are tapped twice, you are the doctor. Then n will say “Mafia wake up” mafia will look up. “Mafia who do you want to kill?” Mafia will point to some one. “Mafia go to sleep” Mafia closes his/her eyes.  “doctor wake up.” Doctor looks up. “Doctor who do you want to save?” Doctor points to some one, it could be him/herself. “Doctor go to sleep.” Doctor closes his/her eyes. Next, n says “Everyone wake up.” They do so. Then, if the Doctor had pointed to the same person Mafia pointed to, no one gets killed, and so the story might go like this: “Well, Kate was walking last night into the street, and didn’t see the car Mafia was driving, so she got hit, thankfully, the doctor came right in time so you were saved.” if Mafia pointed to someone the doctor didn’t point to, the story might go something like this. “well, Lisa, last night, mafia stabbed you and the doctor was to busy saving someone else so, your dead.” If that is the case, then people can guess who mafia is. Who ever has the most votes of being Mafia is put on trial. Then, people vote to kill them, or let them live. The majority wins. If the person is killed, they go and join the other dead people. If Mafia is killed, then the game is over. If they kill the doctor, then everyone in the game is doomed.

We had an ornament exchange next. Then we made ginger bread houses! Well, actually we just decorated them; they were pre-made. Mine looks like there is a gummy bear in the front yard shoveling snow, and another gummy bear on the roof making a snow angel, but in reality, the evil brother bear is holding a glue stick, and has glued his sister to the roof. I love it.  Then we played more games including more Mafia, and J’accuse, and then we all talked.

Now I will tell you about the Nutcracker Suite I went to go see. The costumes were beautiful and elaborate, the ballet was terrific, the music was hypnotizing, but I must admit, it was not what I expected. I thought it would be at a theater. That was my first false thought. It was in the middle of the mall. And there were many people already occupying the seats. Then, it turned out that our Cotillion teacher hadn’t reserved any seats, so they had to get extra seats and rope them off for us. Unfortunately, our relief was short-lived. Once we all sat down, we realized that none of us could see because too many adults were in front of us. So, we all ended up standing on this huge Garfield toy. But again, good show.
