Holy Week

Helloooooooooooooo! Wow, Easter's coming up pretty quick, huh? Boy, I can't wait! I got an Easter dress and everything! This will be an AWESOME BLOG!

This week, I have been writing an essay a day! That's a lot of essays! So just click on these links to read them!

I know right? 4 essays?! But that's why this blog is so short.

I also have been reading a new book in History called The Great Horned Spoon. The book has a bunch of assignments to go with it. One day this week, I had to go to a website and look at a lot of related pictures and paintings. Then, I had to choose one to write a paragraph about. Here is mine...

Totally different topic...On Monday I had my call backs for The King and I....Surprisingly, I think I actually have a chance to get a main character role, as there aren't many highschoolers in my play, so I am one of the older kids! I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Oh! I almost forgot! My big sister's coming home from college tonight! We're going to have so much fun!

um..... that's kind of all I can think about writing today, so, please enjoy some pictures!!!!

King, Maps, Report, PICS!

This week was something to share all right. On Monday, I auditioned for one of four plays, and I just found out which play I got in! The King and I! I can't wait until next Monday! I think I find out which character I am then. On Tuesday we went to Mass followed by a 'party' at one of our parishes in honor of Saint Joseph, as it was his feast day. There was food, including a lot of pastries and bread, drinks, and I got to talk with some of the friends that I don't get to see much! All in all, it was a very good experience.

I started a new subject in school...actually, it is a very quick subject, and doesn't take me long at all.....Mapping. It is a lot like a test book, or school book with multiple choice questions. I look at maps and answer questions about them. It's really fun!

And then there is math. We are working on polygons and perimeters/area. Did you know that the way you find the area of a triangle is to multiply .5 X the height X the base! And then there is the parallelogram which is base x height! It is fun to know this kind of stuff.

I also had a writing assignment this week-it was a report on the Lewis and Clark unit we just finished. I had to tweak it a TON, but it is finally ready! Please read here.

Well, besides volleyball today, there is nothing else really important for you to know, so until next time, BYE!

short week

 written March 7th

Hello hello hello! I am writing this at 11:21...PM! Ha-ha, yes. This week, I have been working ahead in the night. I think I like night school better than day school.  Well, what is there to talk about for this week?  For one thing, baby started swim lessons this week. OH! And I had my theatre class Showcase on Monday! Yup, it was amazing! I had lots of fun, but I was totally nervous! And a lot of the other girls were too! Click on these links to see some videos from the Showcase: http://youtu.be/fTdqlFmmfqI  and  http://youtu.be/iSUFWCMl9_Q

Over the weekend, I went to see my cousins. Here they are!

The first night, I got there around  8pm, so we just ate and watched TV till like three in the morning when I finally got up off the couch and turned it off. Lol. Then on Saturday we had lots of fun drawing, going to get donuts, dressing up, and working on the epicest fort ever! And YES epicest IS a word!  To see a video of our fort, go to:  http://youtu.be/HTVUvxK-tAI  Sunday, we left for home.

On Wednesday, my friend E.A. and her sister B. came over, and we had a webkinz appreciation day! We had competions, games, and brownies! It was SO much fun! We unfortunately didn’t have time for all the planned competitions, but it was still loads of fun!

As for school, we have still been studying Lewis and Clark…here is an essay that I wrote for it.

I have started a new composition unit in school…so here are two of the writing assignments I have had so far. I LOVE writing! In fact, I am going to write a book soon!

Let’s see, I think that’s about it for this blog. Sorry it’s a little short, but this week really has been short.

Fun with Grandma!

We're still a little behind with posting.  This was written March 1st.

OK...blog. Well, I have SO much to tell you about this time! Let's start at the beginning. On Tuesday of last week, my Grandma came. I had SO much fun with her!
On Wednesday, we all went to this place which was like a journey through the Bible.
They had a lot of mannequin-like things. Next to one, there were buttons. They had the words of questions on them. I assumed that if you press one, the answer would come out of a speaker or something. I had something different coming. I pressed a button, and the mannequin's head turned to me and started talking. It was all I could do not to scream. I did jump back though. It started moving its hand, and I was scarred silly. I walked on. As you can see in this picture, baby is quite content watching this mannequin talk, and talk, over and over, on a replay every time she walks to a certain spot. As you can also see, I am not enjoying it.
We walked on to other exhibits, and it truly was a journey through the Bible. The “mascot” was a lion from St. Jerome's cave, Leo the lion, and there was a moving one on a rock. Here is a picture of me next to it.
Baby kept waving to it, and saying things like “hi lion,” and “is he talking?” It was very cute. Well, when we got to the gift store, baby found an area devoted to Leo the lion. There were stuffed animals, little lion claws, and trinkets.

I looked at a big lion, and I said “40 bucks, for this?! Wow.” later, baby went up to a lion, and said “40 bucks? For this?! Wow!” it was SO-O-O-O-O-O-O ADORABLE! My grandma got her a tiny lion toy, which of course, she named Leo.

On Friday, my friend E came over to my house. It was supposed to be a play date, but we managed to get it a sleep over! We played webkinz, did makeovers, and watched My Little Pony. Yeah that's right. It is actually a good show now. On Saturday, we played some more, ate yummy pancakes, and played Mario cart on the Wii, which E is now addicted to. Lol.

On Sunday, Grandma, Mom, and I went up to Mimi's college. We had lunch with her, hung out with her, and saw a play that she did the lighting for. It was a Shakespeare play, Twelfth Night, and was a little hard to understand, but the costumes were good, and the actors were good, and it was for the most part a great play, and I also enjoyed seeing Mimi again. Before the show, she took me backstage, and into the sound booth where she worked during the show. It was SO cool!

On Tuesday, Grandma left. I started working on a costume/outfit. It is zebra print, and is supposed to look like Zecora-a super epic zebra character. Well, here is the outcome of it.

I wore it to Co-op on Wednesday. At co-op, we played “riddles” which is like hangman, but with out the man to hang. What fun is a game if you don't kill a drawing of a man?? you tell me. Lol. Well, once that was over, the class was over, so we all left for home.

Math has been the only thing that stood out to me this week. And not in a good way. It has been twice as hard as it normally is. Blech. Some of the problems are like 38/259 of 9563! what!? Oh well.

In history/geography, we are studying Lewis and Clark. We are reading a book on them called the Captain’s Dog. It is really interesting! I like it, especially because it's written from the point of view of Captain Lewis' dog! I made an Indian dance rattle, which baby liked very much! As you can plainly see right here:
